"Professional Drivers"

North America's unsung Heroes

Our Vision

Trade Qualifications - Trade Status for Professional Drivers:

TQ's require recognized educational curriculums, pre-apprentice and apprenticeship training and each have term requirements which need to be satisfied prior to moving up the ladder and being granted Journeyman status - a system we should adopt!

Standardized Commercial Driver Training "Curriculums" throughout Canada:

Currently, driving schools are only required to meet "minimum provincial standards" - free to make up their own curriculums. No recognized Trade has a system that allows a "free for all" as it pertains to teaching and testing - neither should we!

Revision of the National Safety Code:

Current application of the National Safety Code does not stop people from applying for, purchasing or holding of multiple NSC numbers - this practice is the catalyst for lack of responsibility and accountability, furthermore, it allows carriers which break the law to continue to operate even after losing an NSC number - with your support, we can put an end to the "NSC" shell game!

Addition of Drivers to the National Safety Code

We cannot ask carriers to be responsible without asking drivers to be responsible also. Professionalism is composed of three elements: Education, Experience and Conduct. For those of us who have chosen Professional Driving as a career, it is frustrating to see those who do not subscribe to our level of professionalism, continually bring us down to their level - in the public eye, we are guilty by association!

It is our ambition to see all commercial drivers required to hold their own NSC number. The ability to track each driver's history throughout his career is paramount, not only to "permanently" rid the industry of shoddy workmen, but also to accredit good drivers for their commitment and dedication to professionalism and public safety. The system may have problems, but there are solutions... Please say that you will be a part of those solutions.

Join us in our effort to rebuild Pride Unity Strength & Honour within our industry.
